Epson PictureMate PM-400 Review and Giveaway!

Epson-PM400-Cathe-Holden-06Earlier this year I shared the fabulous Epson SureColor® P400 Wide Format Inkjet Printer. I have always had excellent experiences with Epson printers, so I was super pleased to be asked to use and review another, the Epson PictureMate PM-400 Personal Photo Lab.

From Epson: The  PictureMate PM-400 is a compact, wireless, photo printer that packs a big punch. This lightweight printer’s job is to deliver beautiful borderless 4″x6″ and 5″x7″ photos. Featuring wireless printing, plus Wi-Fi Direct®, it can print directly from your iPad, iPhone, tablet, or smartphone in as fast as 36 seconds. Get stacks of photos with convenient Print Packs that don’t take up additional space, includes ink cartridge and 100 sheets of 4″ x 6″ photo paper. Photos are smudge, scratch, water, and fade resistant and last up to 200 years.

Check out this video:

The first time I used it I set it next to the couch to print photos while watching my favorite Netflix show. Look how adorable this little thing is!
Epson-PM400-Cathe-Holden-02I printed 4″x6″ jpeg files from my laptop (that I’d previously edited in Photoshop) of my assemblage art pieces. (Please note the image being printed below was very dark and shadowed to begin with.)Epson-PM400-Cathe-Holden-03I was so pleased with the colors, detail and clarity of the printing as well as the quality of the Epson photo paper.Epson-PM400-Cathe-Holden-01I found this nice, small leather-like photo album for 4″ x 6″ photos to use as a portfolio for showing my artwork.Epson-PM400-Cathe-Holden-05

I adhered the photos to the thick, self-stick pages, and can add more as I go- up to 20 per book.Epson-PM400-Cathe-Holden-04Of course the printer is great for printing family and vacation images, like these below for a quick photo display, all sent to the printer from my iPhone.SCJ-May-Post-Cathe-HoldenBecause this little printer is so portable and easy to use with so many different devices. I keep it loaded with photo paper in the studio for use anytime. It just might motivate me to start printing years of family photos I’ve neglected and are tucked away in files on my desktop for putting into albums. And next time we have a gathering I can set it out for guests to use in the moment- how awesome is that! Just imagine the possibilities for photo booth prints, creating instant albums for special events such as bridal, baby showers, and birthday celebrations (think party swag!).

Check out my photo display Pinterest board for more ideas for sharing print-on-demand photos.

Thank you for the opportunity to win one of the best brands out there – Epson. I have ridden the wake of a large upheaval in my life, however, by the grace of God, have not only survived, but learned and relearned so many invaluable things about myself. I am growing into who I am and meant to do (no more aerospace designer, thank you) steadily and it all is centered around my passion for photography. I use everything from my iPhone, Sony DSLR, old low megapixel Kodaks for effects. I believe if I had this awesome printer I could at least make lovely little gift books that would be inspirational for others facing dragons and working toward creating more beauty in the world. Well, that is my impetus for throwing my hat in the ring for this lovely printer you are so kindly giving away.
    Thanks ever so much,

Printed photos seem to be a lost art in the digital age. Whenever I attend a memorable gathering, I like to include a printed photo or two from that event with my thank-you note. The photo printers at the drug store are poor quality, so I would really enjoy having my own! Thanks so much for the opportunity to enter, Cathe!
